Synopsis
DRUMbeat, heartbeat. You don’t have to be a musician to understand why drums are important in music. But there’s more to the story. The drum has many faces-including the face of the person exhilarating relationship between drum and drummer.
The heart of the programme comprises a team of 15 drummers presented by Hands Percussion Team and their dialogue with their magnificent Chinese drums. Listen and watch as these musicians explore movement, emotion, energy, storytelling and music. Listen in also as the Chinese drums strike up a musical friendship with surprise visitors such as the gamelan and the sitar!
