Synopsis
The Ju Percussion Group (JPG) is a contemporary world class percussion group. Founded by percussionist Ju, Tzong-Ching in January 1986, it is the first professional percussion group in Taiwan. Following Ju’s direction, the JPG is now renowned worldwide for its innovative blending of East and West, traditional and contemporary. Presented by HANDS Percussion, on this tour, the JPG showcases not only traditional Chinese instruments such as the Chinese gong, lion dance cymbals and traditional drums but it also incorporates complicated layers of marimba, timpani and the vibraphone, to name a few, in its performances.
